This is the Asian Community Online Network's rolling pledge campaign which debuted in 2004. Prior to its inception, volunteer hours from readers, contributors, and coordinators along with two grants have helped develop ACON from its Bay Area beginnings in 1995. Today, we have seven regional networks along with our two national networks of almost 1,500 email subscribers and all our content is publicly accessible via the web. This has also required expanding from just having one to now ten volunteer directors and coordinators across the nation.

With the conclusion of our most recent grant funded outreach project in 2004, ACON returns to being a solely volunteer and community driven effort. This does not mean we do not have expenses however and that with modest funds we may continue to energize expansion of ACON. We are asking readers and community news contributors who find ACON valuable to you and your organizations to pledge your support.

The funds that we raise will first cover the hosting expenses for our website which directs visitors to different ACON and affiliate networks and provides a web directory of community organizations sorted by region. These two resources alone have helped connect 9,000 individuals to information about the AAPI community. Remaining funds will support outreach activities to expand existing or develop new networks organized by our coordinators and volunteers.

ACON directors and coordinators will guide decisions on the allocations of funds to specific activities. Regional and national advisory boards will also be consulted as needed. At our next official call for pledges, we will review how your past pledges were put to use.

Please do take the time to consider if your organization posts news and is able to reach interested individuals through ACON networks.
